(More customer reviews)I've played violin for 21 years. My parents bought this rosin for me when I was still a beginner. I am now on my third or fourth cake of this rosin and would never choose to buy anything else. This rosin lasts forever. I like the dark rosin especially because it seems to go on the bow easier and does not need to be "re-rosined" every thirty minutes. I've tried the light rosin. Some say light rosin is better for summer, and dark rosin is better in the winter, but I can't tell that it makes a difference. I also like the shape of the rosin because the bow doesn't slide around on it, especially once I start making a little track in the middle. I've never liked the rosin with the cork on the sides because when the bow hits the sides, I always expect a bow hair to snap.
The only thing I was surprised at was that I thought I was just buying one cake, when I was actually buying a pack of three. I wouldn't have ordered three because one lasts so long. I guess I'll be finding someone else who needs some rosin.
