1-the flexibility to experiment with placement and tones on the soundboard and bridge.
2-sounds better than most pickups.
3-no need to drill holes in the guitar
4-low cost (also see CONS)
5-sound got even better when I combined the C411 signal with an Audio Technica AT831b clip-on mic pointed at the soundhole. This sound was almost as good as using my AKG C414 in the studio.
6-adhesive sticks really well and doesn't mark up or damage the wood
7-solid/loud output
8-can be used on multiple guitars
9-using two C411s at the same time (placed on different parts of the guitar)would probably sound even better
CONS:
1-doesn't sound better than a high-end condensor mic
2-cost of the mic is low but the AKG cable you need to use the mic cost more than mic.
3-attack is good for fingerstyle/classical/flamenco players but not ideal for really fast pickers (maybe a compressor would remedy this issue)
OVERALL:
worth the money and worth trying out as an alternative to other pickups/transducers for live sound.

Fishman Classic Series C-100 Cello Pickup Review

(More customer reviews)I needed a quick fix for live performance with my cello and this pickup was very affordable. Well, you get what you pay for. It works, but just barely. I had to run my cello through an EQ pedal to boost the signal, which got me there, but the recreation of the sound was a little off. The bass generally didn't resonate very well and I tended to have an issue with hum (a ground loop @ 60Hz that had to be eq'd out). I've since bought a Shadow SH 955 Nanoflex Pickup and haven't looked back. The Fishman gets the job done, but expect to have to boost your signal A LOT to use it live. I'm told the preamp Fishman sells as an accessory will solve all the problems I had, but for the cost of both of them you can get a Shadow pickup or another one of the competitors.

Stylish, functional piece of equipment. Chair strap helps tremendously on slippery auditorium floors. Finish is durable and beautiful. Tremendous value for the product. As for sound enhancement, I did not notice anything different whilst playing aside from my endpin not slipping away from me with the cello attached.
Detriments:
Tricky to set up at first, it wasn't obvious to me initially whether to use the black plastic dot or the pre-drilled hole. Rubber padding convenient isolator and slip-stopper; however, it is very unreliable on its own on slippery hardwood floors. Chair strap is removable although I highly recommend its use on every floor without carpeting.
Side note:
Although I have only played on this rock stop for a few months, it seems hardy enough to withstand years of use, even in college.

The price was excellent and it was about 1/3 of the price of renting a Viola from the local strings retailer. We researched online to learn how to place the bridge and tune it. I was able to use my electronic guitar tuner to tune all but one of the strings. I also have a piano which I used to tune the last string. The whole process of placing the bridge, tightening the stings and tuning took about 1/2 hour, and by looking up ""bridge" and "tuning a viola" I found step-by-step instructions online of how to do it. We were also able to look up how to get the correct size for our son online before chosing this size. My son has been playing this Viola now for one month. He loves it! His teacher says that his is the best intrument in the Viola section at our school, because it has very good fine tuners, and a really good sound. We hightly recommend this instrument to anyone who is looking for a good quality student viola. This Viola comes with the bow, case, rosen and a music book compartment.
